One of my Favorite People, Julie Kinser – Mini Session {Charlotte Portrait Photographer}
While I was in the mountains celebrating my sister’s 30th birthday we did a photo shoot of her. Click here to see Kim’s shoot. During Kim’s shoot, we were setting up different shots, etc. and I asked our friend Julie to sit real quick to shoot a few photos. She was willing to indulge my request. So we had a super-mini photo session, like 10 minutes. I finally had some time to go through Julie’s photos and pick out some favorites to post on my blog.
A little bit about Julie. Julie is infectious in the best possible way. You can’t help but smile when you are around her. Julie smiles ALL the time, which is one of her most beautiful attributes, next to her Godliness. She reminds you in a subtle and convincing air to trust in the Lord without you realizing it. She speaks about God in a way that is pure and reassuring. It is very special and unique. Julie exudes those feel good vibes we all wish we could experience every day when times get tough, when life is hard, or when daily struggles are unbearable. I wish I could have her around all the time!!
I try to be the kind of person that can laugh at myself. I know my flaws – like talking too much and being a too loud, my Italian genes showing like my laundry hanging out to dry – and I try to make it a point to laugh at them and be conscious of them when they are inappropriate. So when Julie, my sister Kim, Wioletta and I went to the mountains it was SO refreshing because I was in the presence of three wonderful women with that same attitude and we were able to laugh and talk and be goofballs all weekend without our insecurities hiding in the shadows. What a great feeling!
Thank you Julie for making me happy when skies are grey. You’ll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away!

Beech Mountain Portrait Session {Charlotte Photographer}
My beautiful sister-in-law invited me to come with her on a mountain trip. We had been planning for a few months doing a portrait session for her because she had never had professional portraits taken before of just herself. So this was the perfect opportunity for a change of scenery – personally and professionally. The weekend was just what I needed!
I’ll get more into the details of our adventures when I post travel photos from our trip.
Saturday night when we returned to our place, Kim got ready and we ventured out to the top of Beech Mountain where we got some great shots. I’ve only ever seen this scenery on my snowboard when the ground was completely white. Seeing it in this light was beautiful.
If you have never met Kim, you’re missing out. She has a quick wit that cracks me up, the hardest punch for a girl I’ve ever seen, but she’s also warm, intelligent, beautiful, unique, and compassionate. If anyone was every ‘born to be a mother’ it’s Kim. The way she has raised my nieces to be independent and kind, goofy but grounded, and generally just full of love, astonishes me. I always joke that if I ever have children, I want to send them to their house for my brother and Kim to raise them. I was so happy to capture these images of her. I had a blast and I hope the beautiful wonderful Kim I know shows through in these photos.
