Kayle’s Bridal Portraits {Charlotte Wedding Photographer}

Let me preface this post by saying that we were dealing some interesting weather challenges this particular day. We planned to do these on the first Sunday in April which ended up being unusually hot for Charlotte. The second challenge was the sun, there were zero clouds in the sky. Normally, you would think: “Great!” right? No, not for a photographer. The most ideal situation would be overcast, but hey, you have to roll with punches. The last challenge was the wind, which like the temperature, is unseen in the photos. So I just want to thank Kayle for her patience and being such a trooper through these weather kinks.

I also want to say a quick thank you to Jessica Green of Follicle Salon in Charlotte, NC for coming to the shoot and doing hair and makeup for our beautiful bride. I have known Kayle for about 14 years now and couldn’t have been happier when she asked me to shoot her wedding and bridal portraits. Another friend of our’s came that day and we ended up making quite the day of it! We worked, laughed, ran, and dodged golf balls.

We chose the Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, NC because this is where Kayle and her fiance (now husband), were getting married. FYI, if you are ever planning to shoot on a golf course, please be aware that golfers HATE when you drive on the cart path near where they tee off. This probably sounds like common sense, however, hind-site is 20/20. Here’s how this went down. We happened to be there on a day when it was pretty busy. I have played golf twice. Both of these “games” were at a par 3 course you walked, and to pay you slipped money in a wooden box on the side of someone’s house using the honor system. Needless to say, I’m not that experienced with real golf courses. So when we were driving the golf cart along the cart path through Pine Island Country Club, let’s just say we realized how little golf etiquette we had when we were screamed at by a golfer and his wife as we drove between their tee-off spot and the fairway just as he was getting ready to swing. Lesson learned good sir!

We spent the next hour and half trying to dodge, hide, and generally flee from this couple. Somehow, as luck would have it, we continued to run into them. Talk about uncomfortable. My face is getting red just typing about it.

With all of that said, please enjoy the photos we were able to capture of Kayle despite ALL of THAT!

{2011 Canvas Contest} And the winner is…

Maternity Portrait, Kasey Loftin Photography

I want to thank everyone so much for participating in this fun contest. There were a total 297 points tallied. Based on the participation level, I’m hoping to make this an annual contest and I’m already trying to think of another contest for this year. I truly enjoyed working with every one of you and hope to work with you in the future! So let’s get down to the real reason you are here.

The winner is… Kristen Peeler

Kristen had 128 points!! I asked her how she managed to get so many points so quickly and she admitted that she emailed everyone one by one to convince them to visit my site and vote. Great job! In second  place was the Edwards family with 49 points. I would like to extend a 10% discount to the Edwards to use in the future.

Thanks again everyone!
