You’ve met my soon-to-be niece, Morgan. These are some photographs I took at Camp Meeting.

Camp What?

When I started dating my fiance, Corey, he introduced me to a tradition that had been part of his life for, well… his whole life. It’s an annual event in Denver, NC called Camp Meeting. “Camp what?” you say. Basically, there are permanent camp grounds in Denver, where each year members of local churches set up in “tents”. The “tents” being more like cabins.

The only downfall of Camp Meeting is that it happens to fall during the hottest two weeks of the year, but the good far exceeds this one downfall. Ham biscuits are a main course, even for dinner. The hum of an ice cream maker is almost always evident. And “The Shack”, a concession stand run by the local high school’s booster club, is a must. Not only do they serve the greats – burgers, corn dogs, cheese fries, ice cream, and snow cones – but they sell countless numbers of inexpensive toys for the kids. I took my camera and tried to grab a few photos of the kids while we were there.
