Ava & Grace, A Sight for Sore Eyes {Charlotte Family Photographer}

These two little ones are the world to me. They are sweet and funny, goofy and caring. Their personalities are bigger than they are and their hearts are bigger than their personalities. While they mean the so much to me, I look forward to seeing the trouble that is stirred up when they get to be teenagers. However, that is far off in the distance in a place I don’t want to imagine right now because they are already growing up way too fast.

My two nieces below are a light in the dark, a cozy blanket on a rainy day and a laugh that fills an entire room. I love them to pieces, I don’t quite know how to explain it. I don’t have children of my own however, I think this might be the most you can love a child that isn’t yours. I thank God for them every day. My life would not be the same without their smiling faces. It is probably the reason I JUMP at the chance to photograph them anytime it is mentioned. The hard part is finding the hard drive space for all the photos seeing as I can never narrow them down and delete ANY. Every facial expression shows another piece of their personality that I adore and want to be reminded of as much as possible. They may never know how much they mean to me, but I will always be there for them and hope they grow up knowing they could come to me for anything. I love you Ava and Grace!

Brewer/Bandy Wedding {Blowing Rock Wedding Photographer}

For the eightieth time, I love the mountains. I love outdoor weddings. I love the air, the fields, the trees, the water, everything. It just feels so fresh. Grace Hill Photography asked me to second shoot Meredith Brewer and Kirk Bandy’s wedding at the Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock. {You can see GHP’s blog post of the wedding here.} I was happy to do it! This is a perfect example of the kind of weddings I LOVE shooting. Anyone who knows me knows I love having a camera in my hand. Period. But sometimes certain situations just feel so “right”. Shooting an outdoor wedding where the majority of the “decor” is God’s green earth in the background just feels “right” for me.

From Meredith’s Vera Wang gown and the flowers in her hair to the large white tent only yards from water AND a willow tree – this wedding was beautiful. Congratulations to Meredith and Kirk! They were one of the happiest couples I’ve ever met. Photographing that kind of love makes my day.
