The Family That Plays Together {Charlotte Family Photographer}

There’s nothing better than parents who are willing to get dirty, willing to jump in and get messy and throw leaves, laugh, tickle, rough-house, and find the kid inside. When I started to talking to Elena about the shoot with her family, her exact words were “don’t worry about getting a lot of posed stuff, I just want you to capture us as we are.” This thrilled me! It is what I encourage every family to do when we go on a shoot. I want you to play and goof around like you normally would, so I can get those genuine smiles from your kids, those real moments you can’t find in photos where everyone is looking at the camera. Those photos are good too, don’t get me wrong. But I absolutely love the idea of photographing a moment that’s spontaneous.

I’m so excited to share this family with you! They were a ton of fun and I laughed almost as much as they did. They kind of reminded me of my family growing up – a family of five not afraid to get dirty and act-a-fool! And my childhood was nothing short of awesome. I’m sure these kids will look back one day and think the exact same thing.
