Lauren – NoDa Art District Bridal Session {Charlotte Wedding Photographer}

It’s been a long time coming! The day has finally arrived where I can post the photos from Lauren’s bridal session in the art district of Charlotte, we lovingly refer to as NoDa. On North Davidson street in downtown Charlotte, there’s this little place called the Neighborhood Theater. The first time I ever went there was to see the Avett Brothers play with some friends. At the time, they were a local band who I was excited to see play such a “big venue”. Before that, I had really only seen them play at the Wine Vault – which is exactly how it sounds, wine sold from a store so small the tables were all outside. Now, Avett Nation is in full swing, they’ve really hit it big. Going back to NoDa and seeing the Neighborhood Theater reminds me of college, the Avett Brothers, and what led me to where I am today as an artist.

With all of that said, I was THRILLED to be doing a photo shoot in NoDa. I got there a little early and walked the streets checking out what it looks like now. If you haven’t been before, you should really go check it out. My suggestion? Park your car at one end and walk the streets up and down. There is an awesome yogurt place you must try, a tattoo shop sure to intrigue even the least nosey person, and plenty of shops to pique your interest with handmade goods, art, and more.

I’m so glad Lauren’s personality allowed me the opportunity to shoot here. I had been dying to use this area and was just waiting for the right client/shoot. Well, I got my wish! This ended up being one of my favorite shoots to date. Thanks Lauren! You were amazing!

We tried to incorporate some personal touches for Lauren’s husband Chris. So Lauren brought along a few baseball hats that showed Chris’s interests. I loved being able to work in their personal lives.

I’m going to end with one of my favorite shots from the entire session. I love what happens when something natural happens, the client forgets the camera is there and reacts to their surroundings. Magic happens! In this next shot, Lauren’s friend/bridesmaid walked by while we were shooting and this was the reaction I caught when she wasn’t posing for the camera. Her smile is so genuine and beautiful – probably why this is my favorite photo!

Lauren’s Bridal Shoot -Teaser {Charlotte Bridal Photographer}

I have been dying to post these photos. It is the WORST part of a bridal shoot. Waiting to post them, that is. Especially with this shoot. Lauren is… wow. She is comfortable in front of the camera, her face is like porcelain. Can’t wait to show you the rest. But here is a little teaser.

Starr + Neil = Married! A sneak peek… {Boone Wedding Photographer}
